Police have warrants out for two others

A 18-year-old Mississauga man has been arrested in connection with a shooting March 28 at the Spadina subway station.

The accused, who appeared in court Thursday morning, cannot be named as he was 17 at the time of the incident. He was apprehended by police on Wednesday, May 7.

The accused is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, two counts of assault, discharging a firearm, pointing a firearm, having dangerous weapons, possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Police allege that the victim and her friend were travelling northbound on the University-Spadina line when an altercation began with three men. One of the suspects reportedly produced a firearm and fired a shot that struck the victim as the train arrived at Spadina Station at about 8:45 p.m. The three suspects then fled the scene but their images were captured on surveillance video at the Yonge/Bloor, St. George and Spadina Stations.

The victim was treated at hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have also released photographs of two wanted males; one young offender and one adult suspect.

A special judicial authorization has permitted the naming of the young suspect, 17-year-old Ibrahim Sadat of Brampton, until Tuesday, May 13.

Sadat is described as black, five-feet-nine to six-feet-one inches tall. In the surveillance video he was wearing grey or faded black jeans, a black hoodie, a white baggy shirt with a dotted design and a button-downed collar, a black jacket as well as a dark coloured do-rag and white runners with no laces. He also had black braided hair.

A warrant has also been issued for Emmaunuel Boakye, 20, of no fixed address.

Boakye is described as black. He was wearing black jeans with a patch-type logo on the right rear pocket, a black faded Roca Wear jacket with a stylized letter 'R' on the back, a black baseball cap with a white logo on the front and an earring in his left ear.
